Yes, the coffin was under the library if you only saw “A Land Without Magic” from Season 1, but

in “That Still Small Voice” in Season 1, Henry got trapped in a mine shaft far from the center of town. Remember when Regina dropped a piece of Snow’s coffin glass? She dropped it straight down and it landed on Snow’s coffin. That is a huge continuity issue (to me) with where they placed the coffin in “A Land Without Magic”. Unless there was a very strong wind that blew the glass for miles, or did Emma (and later Hook and Regina) walk for miles to get over to where Snow Coffin was (underneath the mine shaft). Emma, Regina or Hook weren’t sweaty, dusty or breathing hard if they walked for limes away from the Library. It’s a small point about where Snow’s Coffin is, and maybe it’s in the realm of “suspension of disbelief”, but that’s why we do a podcast to overthink such things.

As for the coffin in the Season one finally the coffin was under the library I do not think it was moved. Although if I remember correctly the coffin was also under in the mind… so I guess they move it to wherever they want, whenever they want it shown.

the writing is a different matter all together. i felt that this season hasn’t been as cohesive as the last one. there is no overall plotline but several smaller ones that keep interchanging or got completely dropped so you really can’t get some honest momentum. also, i found basically every single plotline resolution very obvious and predictable. usually, the first and most logical thing that came to mind came to pass, and that is just sloppy. when you audience can guess everything that’s coming, you got serious problems. also, characterization of certain characters hasn’t been consistent.

also, killing cora before the finale was a mistake. unless they do something extraordinary for the two par finale, i doubt any episode is going to pass the greatness of “the millers daughter”. unless greg/owen and tamara are a part of a secret government anti-magical organization and we see the army surrounding storybrooke in the last shot of the finale, those two are just not compelling enough as the bad guys.

season 3 is more or less secure IMO. if the show does get canceled, it could happen next year. now, there is just too much buzz and outside projects and the interest is still high that it’s rather safe.

Also, have to go back on my original thought about Tamara. K&H confirm her as just an ordinary human with no alternate world counterpart. Then her story should be very interesting once we get to see it.

I think we finally got this scene, in….. The Miller’s Daughter. Rumple brings himself resolution or closure on three fronts in one scene. He finally confronts Cora about her love for him and gets his answer, while confessing his love to Belle on a cellphone while Emma and Baelfire listen and by the end of the phone call, gets his acceptence from his son Baelfire.

Out of all the other speeches by Rumple, I think this is the closest to Ben’s scene we’re going to get.

I also believe there’s an outside shot of almost the entire left side of Granny’s Diner, from the front to the side where we believe this hallway exists, and all the way to the back of Granny’s where the parking lot is and where they find Kathryn lying on the ground. I believe that was in “The Return”….it’s been a while.

I’ve always believed that Mary Margret/Emma’s apartment was behind Granny’s somewhere, but it always seemed to me that Granny’s B&B was somewhere else, apart from the Diner, but who knows?….

It’s also always been proof of Regina’s lie about how she claims she found David by the side of the road. In her story she claims she was on her way home when she discovered that she had forgotten her cell phone back at the office….. We didn’t have cellular phones 1983,…. Just pagers, and Doctors were the only ones who carried those. So if Regina needed to make a call, it was coming from a landline for the next 10 or 15 years.
Which also confirms that David came to straight to Storybrooke when the Dark Curse hit, from the floor of their castle, unconsious, straight to that hospital bed, and had never stepped foot in Storybrooke til Mary Margret read the Book to him and he wandered out the side door and into the forest, where they found him in the creek under the T(r)oll Bridge.

Agreed, they should have just used the payphone that has usually been in front of the library. Nice catch.

So when the writers flashed the “Present Day” subtitle on the screen, they were referring to present day>>>>however many centuries ago!
Which suggests exactly what I had assumed back in season one! That not only is Storybrooke parralleling us from 1984 on the same calendar, but that the events in FTL WERE paralleling us on the same calencar as well, only from their year and century…… Ha! ;^)P

I think we’re forgetting that there is “another” Hat! Made by the magical hands of Emma!
And if I remember correctly, Emma and MM took it with them when they left Jefferson’s.
I think we’ll be seeing August/Pinocchio very soon as he is the only one, besides Emma, that knows where that tree that they entered our world through is located. And Charming is looking for that tree right about now.

Bae’ would be 41 to 42 years old now if he crossed at 14 and arrived in 1983 as all others did. Which would also mean that a 31 or 32 year old Baelfire hooked up with a 17 year old Emma!, Whoa!…… and doesn’t know he has a son.
“He totally understood what that postcard meant”…. So, someone from Storybrooke has been informing him this whole time! Only one he knows from Storybrooke is the “Reul Ghorm”/The Blue Fairy!, and he only knows her from FairyTaleLand!… So if she knows of Baelfire and where he was, then he also knows August/Pinocchio through her as well. Thus Bae’s connection to all the events of FTL after he had left. The Blue Fairy and Pinocchio.
Which now suggests that Henry’s Book could have been written and produced by Geppetto by way of the Blue Fairy, with Jimny looking over his shoulder. They had at least nine months to write it between the EQ threatening the Curse at the wedding and showing up at the castle with the Dark Curse. Which would also explain how AWB learned to lace up and bind Books! … Geppetto taught him.
There was something that Henry said to Archie way back in episode 5, “That Stiil Small Voice” when they were all out at the sink hole. Henry waved over Emma and Archie and told them; “This requires all of Operation Cobra. Both of you.” Archie: ” I didn’t realize I was in Operation Cobra.” Henry: ” Of course you are, YOU KNOW EVERYTHING.” unquote!
The Blue Fairy leaving Rumple’/Gold out of the Book would be to protect Henry from Mr.Gold/Rumple’. You saw how he was about to cut August’s throat over who told him about the Dark One and who told him about the Dagger. August replies: “A little fairy”.
But, that would mean, If Mr.Gold/Rumple’ didn’t write the Book, then he would have been very curious about the Book and would have wanted to see what was in it. But, to date, has never asked Henry about his Book, which means he wrote it or has seen it somehow and decided it wasn’t a threat, and that it would help his cause……….But, then that, as IS much of Rumple’/Mr.Gold’s storyline, would have required him to have his memory way before Emma’s arrival…… Years before Emma’s arrival! “I’m not buying this bogus about when Gold/Rumple’ got his memory! I’m telling you we’re being played! *Unreliable Narrators*” Hahaha!, sorry, just thinkin out loud! 8^)P

He struck me as Baelfire right from the start. And I’m NOT one of the “Bae’ is Henry’s father” fans either. I suspected he was in Boston at first. It seems Storybrooke’s missing children have a tendency to end up in the Boston foster care system for some reason, two states away from Maine. We know that where ever Pinocchio and Emma came through to OUR world, they ended up in a Boston foster system home as was shown in ep.20 “The Stranger”. But, as he continued to walk home, it was revealed through several background images that he was in New York City. Jeff has shown two instances above and there was a third hanging from a light pole on the street that beared the initials NYC. Above, in the first box, Jeff has captured two more. Bae’ is standing next to a map on the subway, and to “his” right the map reads New York City. In the same box above, the image changes to Bae’ exiting an ascending escalator in the subway terminal. Just to his left, there is a blue “MTA” sign bearing the name New York City Transit below it.
The post card “Broken” marks the timeline as to between the finale and now. Did you notice the time on the clock, ON the postcard? 8:15. Which means that, that post card was made or is from a, pre Emma’s arrival, Storybrooke. His room is filled with 80′s era items such as the “Technics” turntable and tuner. Lots of microphones on the top shelf…. possible DJ?
The tattoo on Emma’s wrist signifying a symbolic marriage in medievil times would fit Baelfire’s origine and customs as he was from that era. And Emma, being from our time, and a 17 year old in love wouldn’t know anything about that tradition unless told by someone who did know. That symbol is every where in Storybrooke. It was also on the cookies that Hansal/Josef & Gretel/Ava were eating at Mary Margrets when Emma was asking about their father.

So far the music chosen has had some significance in the past, to the storyline in Storybrooke. Sunday nights track was Lou Reed’s “Charley’s Girl”… will have to look up those lyrics….somethng like; “You better watch out for Charley’s girl”

One more thing, …… Mr. Gold/Rumple’ and Belle kissed,……. and Gold/Rumple’ is still the Dark One!,…. So, their kiss is no longer *True Love’s Kiss*… and I’m pretty sure it’s not on Belle’s side that lacks the True Love part…..

Anyway, it’s placed in the same spot as the circle on the red hand on MM’s wall. Perhaps ironically, our best look at it appears in the episode “Red Handed”.

I put that little graphic together last night. Note that it also resembles the overhead view of Snow/Charming’s wedding, and Snow is wearing similar looking flowers in her hair in that scene as well. On top of that, MM’s red hand poster resembles illustration about “hand-fasting”, a celtic marriage or bonding ceremony. From wikipedia’s definition:

Upcoming characters look AWESOME!! If they will have Hook, wouldn’t they also include “the boy who wouldn’t grow up”??? I portrayed him (Pan!) in an elementary school “character day” when I was just a lad. It’d be fun to see someone flying around Storybrooke, ME and not think “Look, up in the sky. . . . it’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s SUP. . . .; you get the picture!! Wait until “Man of Steel” hits the theaters!

For Example: The 108 on Regina’s door is recognized by LOST devotees as an easter egg to them. And that’s right where they leave it too! Unable to tell you why it’s on Regina’s door. Their only reference to the number has to do with numbers punched into a computer at certain intervals of time. They completely miss the inference of that to the daily rounds of chanting on prayer beads that must be completed and are counted on a string of 108 beads. If the original eastern spiritual philosophy, which was originally intened in LOST as well, was correctly interpreted, they would tell you that Regina, with that 108 on her door, symbolizes the 108 difilements, as well as the 108 earthly temptations that eastern philosophers believe that a human being must overcome to achieve Dharma Yuka, Moksha, Nirvana, or “Personal Spiritual Liberation” OR in our case, it (Regina) was what Sheriff Graham had to overcome to find his *heart* and symbolically his Spiritual Liberation…..but, if you don’t believe in that kind of thing….well then,……you’re left with an easter egg, aren’t you?…ha!, “easter egg”, more irony.
Once Upon ATime still holds it’s chance to relay it’s message correctly to those who will listen for themselves.
LOST has no chance for redemption along those paths, to it’s message of redemption. (more irony, yet!)
Once seems to be a message of “Hope” which still, through it’s own symbolism, has a very good chance of coming through, loud and clear, to anyone who will listen hard enough.

Regina brought Jefferson to Sorybrooke with the intent of Jefferson having his full memory intacked as part of his curse. “To remember” what he had and no longer has anymore and the mansion that she put him up in was some consolation because she knew someday she might need to use the Hat!.

Anyway, there’s been several connections to the passed decade, 10 years seems to be the consistant duration and among others, another new connection came about a few nights back while reviewing episode #5, “That Still Small Voice” At the part where Marco is about to lower someone down into the air shaft which turns out to be an elevator shaft, Regina and Emma argue about who is going down, and in that conversation Emma says to Regina; “I’ll go. You’ve been sitting behind a desk for the last 10 years.”
What happened 10 years ago, people!? Besides Henry coming to Storybrooke?

I’m going to try harder this upcoming season to stay away from sites that give away more info than I should know. I’ll just have to catch up on the bts pictures during the summer.

But it becomes annoying, a few things here and there of non-specific details of what they see is okay, it’s not really giving anything away. But describing a whole scene you saw in full detail gives away, the excitement that has been building on waiting to watch season 2.

Some people should remain more respectful to the cast and crew. They are doing their jobs and when the season starts they want you to be excited and want to watch the show and be amazed by everything. It must be frustrating for them to know there are people who just can’t wait.
We know they can’t prevent people from showing bts pics from the set. The only way they are able to do that is completely cut filming off to the public. That is not what they want, they want to be as hands on with the fans as much as possible because they are making magic to for us to enjoy as fans, as people as a family. They sit down and watch the show Sunday nights with their family and friends as well, they are fans too.

This day in age where technology spreads at a pace of a wildfire, it’s hard to contain, we cannot stay away from official press releases or the actors themselves saying something. The actors are controlled by confidentiality that they cannot say anything about upcoming episodes, most shows are like that.
If the actors are allowed to say the things they do in interviews, which it isn’t giving away anything for the future. Then why can’t the fans be as respectful of them, as they are of us. They are bringing us into the place of magic and filling our heads with things most of us haven’t thought about in years.
I guess what I’m trying to say is. Respect the fans and the actors. You want to share, but think about it yourself next time. Is it something you would want to see if you were on the receiving end? If you say no, then you better not post it. It’s easier on you, mystery poster and it’s easier on all of us in the end.

Frankly I think REALITY TV has ruined TV viewing… bunch of dummies getting 15 min of fame instead of drama, comedy and interesting shows. I like acting, I dissect the performance, that is what is important to me. It is the nuances of the performances that makes the shows good or bad. Even when I know the plots if the acting is good I will watch … usually over and over again.

I totally loved it and I love you guys for the amazing content you provide.

I really truly believe that the smoke covered it up as it hit 8:15 to make us worry about whether it’s frozen or not, and then we’ll open it up with that next minute showing us “phew, we’re ok…now what just happened??” It just makes way more logical plot sense. (Us die-hards know or have strong reason to believe it is merely functioning as a normal clock and not restopping / freezing on 8:15 but it’s far more dramatic and hiatus-worthy in the questions it begs. Otherwise why show it at all?)

As I said before, 8:16 doesn’t say ANYTHING to me over the break. First minute of the season sure, it says we’re ok, not frozen in time, progress is being made. Over the break with the “What did Rumple just do?” question lingering? Absolutely nothing comes to mind if it were to show 8:16.

I guess some could make the argument that it shows we’re not frozen still, but that just seems awkward and we’re left hanging in a totally different way that’s just kinda blah. It says, time is moving forward but what did he just do? 8:15, to me, says “What did he just DO???” It’s far more dramatic.

I think some of the confusion lies in what we think they meant by time moving forward. I think in their given context they meant that once the pilot was done and Emma decided to stay, time has been moving ever since. Even though they showed it ticking to 8:15 in the finale, it will continue ticking like normal when we pick back up.

They were just pointing out that they wouldn’t have to worry much about Henry aging in the series cause he naturally would (as well as everybody else in the town now) since they are no longer frozen in time. Walt was supposed to stay 10 for 3 years of television. Henry is allowed to age normally, so they were just saying this wouldn’t be an issue here.

I see what you’re saying about the possibility of jumping a few months which they could do if necessary but I’m hoping we at least get to see some of the reunions and focus on “taking back the kingdom” stuff.

They really book-ended the season by having a lot of the finale go back to the pilot and I know they talked about that somewhere too (can’t remember where at the moment) but we started with the clock on 8:15 and I truly truly believe we ended with it ticking (not freezing, not stopping, just staying there for exactly 1 minute) at 8:15. Yes in the pilot they also advanced the clock to 8:16 AT THE END. A true bookend however would get us right back to where we STARTED which was….8:15.

I totally agree with you about the shot being deliberate, as well as the angles, to invoke the questions that would linger throughout the hiatus. But, from a purely logical point of view, it would seem to me, now that we have a bit of insight as to what was intended by the writers, (time moving forward), that it would be intended for the clock to reset at 8:15 (as to suggest a reset in plotline) AND then,…. a clock tic forward to 8:16 to inform us that time did not freeze and continues to move forward.
However, had the writers intended to freeze time at 8:15….. then, I would have to agree that the clock was at 8:14 AND then, with a clock tic, freezes at 8:15. But, again with this new insight about time continuing to move forward, I would have to say, despite the sneeky shot angles and from a purely logical point of view, that what we’re seeing is the clock reset at 8:15 and ticking forward to 8:16.

I think what we’ll see in season two, at least, for the first few episodes, is that we will pick up where we left off time wise, just to catch us up with the new storyline and the current calendar date,which took season 1 almost 7 episodes to do,…. but, that was b/c of a month late Oct series launch. I don’t believe we’ll have that problem again. It should take just a few episodes of the new season to set up the new plot and bring us current.
UNLESS! LOL! Henry has grown and they open with a recap of the *finale* and then just flash a caption reading “Four Months Later” and go from there! Ha haa!!

The clock did tick to *something* at the end of the finale, it just didn’t freeze there again so time is still “moving forward” even if it goes to 8:15 in that shot. However, like I said before I think it did land on 8:15 to make people question what happened. More possibilities come from 8:15 than 8:16 but I’m sure we’ll see it move right along when we pick back up where we left off (we better pick up where we left off, too many reunions I want to see!)

Jeff I know you tweeted me back saying that you took into consideration the angles and I get that, but looking at that top shot since it’s back a bit further, the minute hand should still look relatively level and it doesn’t. Also in the last shot, the minute hand doesn’t look like it’s off at a potential angle like in the 2nd one, it looks right on its mark and level which tells me once again: 8:15. The 3 shots together are what make me sure of it. If it started at 8:15 (saying that the angle of the 2nd shot just makes it look like it’s at the 14 minute mark) then why isn’t the hand level when the rest of the clock is? It’s clearly up at an angle whereas the rest of the clock is normal looking.

Hope we get some confirmation eventually or that they do a better job of showing it but if it looked remotely like it moved to 8:16 when the episode ended I would have been very disappointed and meh about whereas 8:15 has so many possibilities with it!

If it turns out that way then fine but in that case the ending of the finale wasn’t as epic as I thought and frankly kinda boring. It was that closing clock moment that made the ending what it was. In my opinion it’s best to leave 8:16 for the opening of season 2 to show time is continuing on and leave us hanging at 8:15 to make us question stuff over the break.

In the meantime I can’t really agree that this is case-closed. Not enough proof either way since nobody’s budging.

This was from a year ago before the series began and he probably figured “who’s gonna see this??” Ha ha!….. oops!
Anyway, My take is that, as he says, “Will we end with a clock tic…. *time is moving forward* and we’re not tied to the real tiime, so… there is a little wiggle room if his (Henry’s) voice changes. I take that to mean that the clock doesn’t stop at all!!! It keeps right on ticking keeping time….. which fits into my time theory as well. They have gone to a “lot of trouble” to show us that the show runs in time, side by side, with our present calendar,only 28 years apart, as the clock must march forward to keep from happenning to Henry what had happened to Walt in LOST. IF,…. during the hiatus, Henry hits a 3″ to 5″ growth spurt and his voice changes, they have wiggle room of about….. well, they wrapped on March 31, and filming begins in July, so roughly 3 1/2 to 4 months to move the storyline ahead from where we left off in the finale, not only to explain Henry’s possible growth, but, to catch us up to present day time in Storybrooke….. which I can almost guarantee will be the same time as when the season 2 premier airs, just as all the episodes, after ep’4 did in season one. But, that’s just my take…… 8^)) Miss you guys! LOTS!

Also, and more importantly, in the first 2 shots (the “before it moved” screenshots), the minute hand isn’t level like it would be if it were 8:15 to start with. It levels off in the “after” pic.

I really think we’ll see that next season picks up where this one leaves off and the clock will click to 8:16, just like it did in last year’s season premiere! Moving to 8:16 right now just doesn’t make any sense to me, whereas having it be covered in purple smoke at 8:15 leaves TONS of suspense and to what Rumpel has caused now!

I freaked out when I saw it the first time BECAUSE it moved to 8:15. Moving to 8:16 would not have had that affect whatsoever and I think they showed it to cause just that: to make people wonder what’s happening. Are we back to where we started? Is there a new and different curse? Is the clock stuck at 8:15 AGAIN or just passing over it as magic is returned?? 8:16 does none of that.

Love you guys but I am 100% that this clearly shows 8:14 moving to 8:15.

Ok, If Maleficent’s original form is a Dragon, then it makes sense that she would return to a Dragon upon entering Storybrooke w/o anyone chosing her form, as I don’t think they could choose a particular form as there was no magic in Storybrooke…. In addition, it also means that Rumplestiltskin knew, not only that Maleficent would be in Storybrooke, but that her form “would be a Dragon” thus, would be a perfect place to hide “that bottle of stuff”…. I call it “stuff” because I don’t think we’ve been told what that really was that he threw into the well. Rumple’ knew back in FTL that Maleficent would be a Dragon in Storybrooke and is why he needed Prince Charming to put that “bottle of stuff” inside the Dragon!. Now was that a plan “B”, just in case, kind of thing? or had Rumplestiltskin been able to see into the future to this point? I would have to believe that this IS what Rumple’ has intended all along and that his plan has come to a “Phase Two” or second half of his total plan to find Baelfire….. Which has to mean that Rumple’ has seen beyond this point and has made plans that are already in effect. It doesn’t seem to me that Rumple’, much like the psychics of present day, is given any personal insight to his own path in life, thus, not knowing that Belle was in Storybrooke, or even Alive, or that AWB was not his son or if Bae is still even Alive or where he is….. He can only see that which does not concern him directly, again, like today’s psychics!
One more thing @Colleen!…. I’ve been asking this question since episode 5 ” That Still Small Voice” aired back in November over ThanksGiving! The Blue Fairy told Jimney that he would “live” as long as he needed to, to help “little” Geppetto find his way, as he would have many obstacles to overcome. Well, Jimney was there the entire time up til Pinocchio becamw a real boy,… then should have died having fullfilled his end of the deal with the Blue Fairy and all way before the Dark Curse hit. Why was Jimney still alive come the pilot of the show? If the Dark powers of Rumplestiltskin can foretell the distant future, then we would have to assume that The Blue Fairy can as well, and perhaps further? Since she is supposed to be the original power, why could she not tell Geppetto if Pinocchio would return to wood upon entry into Storybrooke? Hell, Geppetto and the rest of us figured that one out!…… YET! Rumple’ knew that Maleficent would be a Dragon in Storybrooke!!…… Who really is the more powerful in the land? Could Rumple’ have been telling us the actual truth about his power from the beginning? But, that was the Dark One’s Curse, which has now been broken! Why would Rumple’ return the Dark One’s powers when it was so hard to get rid of it…or would be so hard to get rid of it again! True Love’s kiss? Is this his way out this time? After he finds Bae’??…… Please Help! I’ve run out of Crayons…. 8^{

Speaking of sacrifice, im now thinking pinoccio will have to die before emma believes, thereby serving as sacrifice. With this in mind, im glad pinocc and his dad are having time together even though it wont be known until near or after death.

Emma will not get absolute proof as she needs to take a leap of faith. Im wondering if pinocc will be the only to die or will it take more?

Sad thing is, emma may lose her son in a sense if he becomes the ultimate savior, being left alone in storybook, unable to follow others since he does not belong there. Emma was born there although left before or as the curse was coming, or ?

8pm EST/7CST (on ABC)

The Canadian affiliate may also air the show at 7pm PST (don’t quote me on that though.) Meaning the eastern (and possibly pacific) time zoners will likely enter a chat room full of spoilers. And the CST timezoners are probably segregated from EST for no reason.

Clearly with the Huntsman, Regina plucked out his heart, but he continued to live, perhaps that is what Cora did to Regina? So it wasn’t so much what Snow had done to her it was that her mother plucked her heart out?

…and maybe that would lead into the theory that when Regina was in Wonderland why that one box glowed? because it had her heart in it?

That’s what it looks like to me too. But what could that signify? Suffering? Sacrifice? Pain? Resurrection? Transcendence? Peace? Truth? The ultimate Hero’s Journey?…..

I think that’s the whole point – this scar on someone she just met, in the flesh so to speak, then seeing it in the book, is the first crack in Emma maybe starting to believe the book.

Regina’s fathers heart was burnt up in a fire that enacted the curse. There certainly didn’t seem to be time AFTER that curse enacted for the queen to make a jaunt to Wonderland. By then, it was all about getting to Snow White’s castle.

It was a tiny Henry Sr. that she fed. The timeline of these events was probably sometime before Snow White ever eats the apple (let alone is awakened, gets married/threatened, or Henry Srs. heart gets ripped out.)

The similarity to EQ’s set of boxes is interesting tho… does each queen have her own? Since EQ had a hard enough time getting Henry, I don’t think she went back to steal the vault.

But Grace’s hood was brown with little pink and green leaves/flowers, not red.

Re-watched the scene with Henry and he does have a perplexed look on his face when he’s looking at that story. Hmmm!

Second – whether Jefferson could leave the house or not. I think if he couldn’t leave the house at all, he would have made more of a point about that when telling Emma about the torture of watching his girl. When Emma asked why he didn’t do something, he could have blurted “What part of ‘Can’t leave the house’ was unclear?” …well, maybe the writers would have prettied that up a bit.

The keys were a specific object detailed in the story. I’m sure Geppetto’s parents are drawn in the book also. I bring the puppets up, because Mr. Gold sure seems to have a lot of familiar trinkets in his pawn shop. Trinkets that came straight from Fairytale world, like for instance…oh…Geppetto’s puppet parents?

Maybe finding the objects that correlate to the stories is the key to Emma having her “proof” and to breaking the curse.

I was thinking about the show ( which I do often ), and I wondered this about Pinocchio:

Is it possible that somehow ( either by the Blue Fairy or some other magical being ) that Pinocchio was changed *back* into a wooden boy and stowed away in the tree with Emma? We were told the tree would “only hold one,” but if Pinocchio had reverted back to his wooden state, perhaps the Tree would not recognize him as being there and therefore would proceed with getting Emma to safety. We also never really got a good look at the inside of the tree, and it would make sense that Prince Charming would have a “Plan B,” in the event Snow White delivered Emma early. Plan B, of course, being that Pinocchio would take Emma and escape.

I believe we were told that Emma was discovered on the side of the freeway by a 7 year old boy. We were never actually told ( as far as I can remember ) how old Pinocchio was in the OUAT Pilot, so theoretically, he could be this age.

Also, isn’t it quite odd that a child discovered baby Emma? We know nothing about the 7 year old boy who “found” Emma, so for all we know, Pinocchio was swept away by social workers and tossed into the “system.” Perhaps he was thought to be a runaway or an orphan.

This would also lend weight to the “August is Pinocchio” theory. Pinocchio was small enough not to be suspected by Regina, yet old enough to be at the age of reason, old enough to be able to retain specific memories and old enough to understand, comprehend and execute instructions. Perhaps “August-occhio” ( if this is his identity ) has been keeping watch ( as much as possible ) over Emma his entire life without her being aware of it.

By the same token, August has probably been keeping tabs on Henry and Storybrooke. It makes sense that August could not come to Storybrooke before Emma came to town; she possibly opened some sort of portal or weakened the boundaries of Storybrooke. Perhaps, Storybrooke is hidden ( much like Hogwarts in Harry Potter, The Secret Garden or The Village ) by means of Regina’s magic. Maybe August had been searching for it for some time and finally was able to find his way there. That could explain why no strangers come to town; they don’t know it’s there because they can’t see it. It’s possible Storybrooke isn’t on the radar at all. That, or Storybrooke and the Fairy Tale world operate much like the Matrix, but that’s a theory I won’t even go into right now, otherwise I would type all night. lol.

Perhaps the Blue Fairy used some precious Fairy Dust to cast a special spell: Pinocchio turns to wood long enough to help Emma get to safety, then returns to real boy form so as to remain hidden in our world as a sort of guide while everyone else ( including Gepetto himself ) is trapped in Regina’s curse. Also, if August is Pinocchio, he would not be instantly recognizable to Regina upon his return. Perhaps this was part of the plan, however, I am sure that even if “August-occhio” ( if that is who He turns out to be ) has fooled Regina, he has not fooled Mr. Gold.

I’ve missed some discussions this week, so this could have been gone over already. And again, I could be wrong…but for some reason, wondering who the blazes August is has been on my mind all week.

And am I the only one who thinks Rumpelstiltskin wrote Henry’s Book?

Just think of August as the show’s writers, and Emma Swan as standing for the clueless viewers, and listen when August keeps saying the answers to all the mysteries are hidden in plain sight, visible to the reader (viewer) who knows how to decipher the literary code–and the primary source of that literary code is Jane Austen’s greatest and most mysterious novel/fairy tale, Emma.

Loved the long show, covered so much. It was like having a long conversation with old friends that I haven’t spoken to in a while; laughing, pondering, gossiping…cringing! (thanks Dave LOL!), it was just a very cool show. I’m glad you guys are relaxed about the whole time thing….. we’re done when we’re done…sometimes a quick show, due to illness or Vegas..lol!…and sometimes long and packed with theories and voice-mails that just “kill”..Thanks Aleara! But we can also transpose this to Pride & Prejudice, and see him as Wickham, the charming handsome stranger who rides (on a horse, not a motorcycle) into Longbourn.

And there’s also a strong suggestion that Ruby’s channeling her inner “wolf” and learning her own powers, is a veiled motif pointing to a lesbian coming out of the closet.

And the Bible is hidden in there as well, with a veiled allusion to Jesus and the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s Well.

And at the time that the Dark Curse hit, Prince James#2 and Snow White had united their Kingdoms…(the EQ’s and King George’s) that we know of to this point, they could have taken over more………. I’ll bet Storybrooke’s city limits (The Dark Curse) cover 100′s of Sq. miles at least!… Plenty of space for that idiot, Booth to think he’s traveling in “Tibet”……. on his, illegally unregistered since ’84, motorcycle….no less!

In tears this poor kid pleaded with Emma at their secret Castle not to take him home…”Please don’t take me back there. You don’t know what it’s like with her. My life Sucks!….lol! I can’t imagine this poor kid and growing up around people that didn’t age and repeated doing the same thing as last year, on his birthday, as they did the year before that and the year before that!…Till he got Emma to come home with him and restart time. I can’t imagine watching the kids I used to play with in Kindergarten all year long…. instantly not remembering me the day AFTER my birthday,…becoming a stranger to everyone, all over again,…and having to make friends with the same kids over and over again,…as I grew older and they stayed the same. I can’t imagine coming to realize that Regina, who I’ve just found out, isn’t my real “Mother”, is my only friend?…. I have no idea what’s going on here, but, something isn’t right! Everyone wanders about in a haze and I have to reintroduce myself every year to them, the same people, the day AFTER my birthday. Dr. Hopper sees me and we have the same conversations as before and as things begin to seem alright, we celebrate my birthday,…and the next day he introduces himself to me and we start all over again….. I’m afraid to ask him why,……. because he might think I’m crazy. Am I crazy?…… I feel so alone.

For me to write fanfic for a show, the show has to be really special. There’s only a been a few shows over the years that I’ve felt that connection and investment in. I’ve definitely felt like Once could end up being that type of show. For me, ideas for a show fanfic are usually formed over a LONG hiatus or summer break sometime after the first season. I like to gather character information and story mythology for about that long before wading in.

As a show goes on, it’s funny because as much as I adore these shows there’s always that “road not taken” or “wish they had done this” or “wish they hadn’t done this” or you learn this history about a plot or character and you think, whoa they could have gone into a different direction with that. What I love about fanfic is you can go back in time with any character to any point in the entire storyline or mythology and use it as a leaping off point.

Often it’s just as much about what’s ISN’T in the show as what is. Thus you’ll see fics that are missing scenes from specific episodes, or future fics (in a way, “Once Upon a Time” is Snow White fanfic future fic. What if Snow and Charming had had a kid and she grew up and did XYZ?) Really good fanfics often give you information on the “Time Line” where you get to know at what point canon diverts though some go around and twist everything up so much you really can’t place a timeline on it.

There’s stories that are very settled on plots, very settled on being like an episode of the show with all the elements. Then there’s the character studies or character relationship stories. You must know about ‘shippers from fandoms in general but I feel like you really haven’t experienced ‘shipping you until read shipper fanfics.

Good fanfic is amazing. And bad fanfic is so terrible you swear it was written by a 12 year old who’d never read a book in their lives. Every cliche in the book is usually there. So it’s often treasure hunting to find the good stuff because it’s definitely pure gold when you discover a REALLY good author or a really amazing ongoing story or series.

I think I may finally be read to go read some Once fic. Should go nicely with my hot chocolate. Thanks for the interview KayleePete, Jeff and Colleen!

Same with her INTENT to stay! If all that Emma had to do was return to Storybrooke to get time to restart (like Henry thought) then time would have restarted automatically, as soon as she crossed the city limits into Storybrooke, right?…but, it didn’t! Time did not restart until Emma’s “INTENT” was to stay….. not untill the second that she got that key to her room at Granny’s B&B in her hand, did Henry see that clock begin to tic. “Intent”…… It’s got be part of the Curse!!

But, it’s still possible that he did cross over with Emma! and we just haven’t seen him yet!….. But, is he the Stranger? Well, he would be about thirtyfive!, but the Stranger?, I don’t think so… The first thing Pinocchio would do would be what??? Right …FIND GEPPETTO!. Pinocchio would have escaped the Curse, so he would remember EVERYTHING!….. I believe the Stranger has been in Storybrooke the whole time and has never been to our world because he’s a fairytale character and can not leave!!.. But, we shall see!!….

IF Booth is the author and has returned the Book to Henry completely restored, then I believe the most revealing subject Henry is to discover, quickly, is the identity of Mr.Gold as “Rumplestiltskin”. If Mr.Gold was not the author then I would assume he removed any clues to who he was before somehow getting that Book into Henry’s hands….

One more thing that lends itself to the theory that Booth has been here the entire time……
This looks like his garage that he is working from…… possibly his home?? These working conditions don’t look as if he’s unpacked anything in quite some time, suggesting he IS working from his home, his home here in Storybrooke!
And that bike still has a KANSAS ’84 plate on it which also suggests…HE AIN’T RIDIN THAT BIKE OUTSIDE STORYBROOKE!……….. which means his home is in Storybrooke and always has been!…..

And theres also a possible ‘hollow hill’ or cave beneath it if there’s an underground spring. hmmm maybe another possible way into fairy tale land beside the mine. *cough gateway, doorway, portal, cough* of course which all typicaly have their ‘ theshold guardians’ per the hero’s journey and multiple myths etc.

Yeah, and that’s a good question Jeff!…. What WAS our good Gym Coach doing out there anyway? He can’t leave town!… and as a fairytale character he’s got to have the same fears imbedded into his false memories as Kathryn described in hers…”I’ve always had this irrational fear of leaving Storybrooke, like something just was holding me back. Is that crazy?”………

The plate on the motorcycle was play on Walt Disney history.
KANSAS is where Disney is from….. and the 23 represents the year(1923) in which he came to Hollywood and finally distributed “Alice Comedies”, later Alice in Wonderland……

Interestingly enough, Jane Austin’s “Emma” is Alice….. and awakes to find it was all a dream……Hmm! ” I don’t know how I would feel about that “….”?”

And No! Emma has not left Storybrooke yet!….& has now FAILED twice! So until she does, I believe she can not!!

So far, only Henry has proven he can….. Mr. Gold is just an assumption, but I have to imagine that he can come and go as he pleases, as he AND Regina are both immune from the Dark Curse and even though Gold now has an “associate” we would have to assume this associate is a fairytale character and is unable to leave anyway! Leaving Mr. Gold the only one to go and get Henry and bring him to Storybrooke….. IF he didn’t have him delivered!!

I think those who did not come from the Fairy Tale world are free to come to Storybrooke (eg. Emma, WAB, truckers delivering food and other supplies) and leave anytime they want.

Perhaps most people couldn’t find the highway leading into Storybooke even if they wanted to, because it is “cloaked” by the EQ’s curse. But somehow the curse does not affect Mr. Gold, WAB, Henry, and truckers bringing food and other supplies in.

Surely there are truckers who bring these items into Storybrooke, and are free to come and go.

A funny little sidebar, if you goggle pictures of the true August Von Haxthausen, his facial hair is even groomed in the same manner as the OUAT August.

I am not looking forward to another break in the OUAT either. But at least I have some of the episodes now and can watch them.

The movie was adapted into a book by Alan Dean Foster (It is said that Foster wrote the original novel, Star Wars (Which was created to George Lucas) Source: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Dean_Foster), then Foster went on to write the fan (Especially me, btw) favorite Star Wars EU novel, Splinter of the Mind’s Eye.

That’s my 2 cent, geeked out ramblings.

One more thing that you would have to consider that we keep forgetting, is that, we know that time and aging was frozen for 28 years before Emma’s arrival and the restarting of time. That has got to mean that ALL in Storybrooke have been reliving the same year over and over again. A full year! and then it reset again. A full year would allow Henry to get the education he’s attained to this point. Regina would just simply advance him in grade level on her own from year to year, where all others would simply repeat the same year again as it reset!. But, I think it’s creating confusion among some who aren’t grasping the idea totally!
Remember, All in Storybrooke have only been here for one year!… BUT! for 28 years in our time…. “let it sink in”…….. For example, Ashley did not walk around at full term with Alexandra for 28 years in Storybrooke. She walked around Storybrooke at full term for a year!…….. then the year reset, and Ashley repeats everything she did for a year!….. and then it resets again!…. When in our time, she is doing this (repeating the same year again) 28 times!! which equates to 28 years OUR time but, only one year in Storybrooke!… then it resets! Let it come! It’ll come… Again,…. David did not lie in that hospital bed for 28 years Storybrooke time! He was only there for a year, Storybrooke time, but he repeated that same year 28 times!! equating to 28years OUR time!…….. Now, I’m not sure how long it was between when the EQ nabbed Belle and the Dark Curse was unleashed. Whatever time passed there was the only true time that Belle spent in the EQ’s prison, because, she has only spent a year here in Storybrooke in that cell… Storybrooke time!…. But, she has repeated that same year 28 times, equating to 28 years OUR time.
Does this help at all …… or did I just make worse?? LOL!

I don’t think it really matters if Ashley is legal age or not!…… She’s just givin birth and with the econmic situation that she and Sean are in, I would assume that they will want to save as much money on formula as possible which means she is nursing the baby and will nurse as long as she can….. which means NO ALCOHOL! ANYWAYS!!!

Another great podcast!…… On the subject of Natasha and “Skype”….. I have no idea how skype works so I’m just going to throw this out there….and I don’t even know if Canada has this either?….. BUT!,….What about “MagicJack” . I understand international calls through one of these is pennies to the dollar!… I know you’ve all seen the “MagicJack” infomercials by now, right??…Google it!.

The LIVE shows are great!. I do have a question though, How do the people on twitter hear the LIVE show if they’re not already plugged into “Mixlr”?? Is there another simulcast LIVE from some other type of media?? And if already on Mixlr, why watch & interact off of twitter? Are some having problems w/Mixlr?

Time wise, I don’t object, at all, to moving the show to a time where more can interact, such as UK and East Coast…. It’s Saturday!…. 2pm Pst = 5pm Est = 9pm UK…. or whaterver!

Whatever the case….. it should be flexible enough to accomodate any new ideas that are sure to pop up during long down times and “HIATUS”…. such as “LIVE” Reply parties, where we agree to an episode and reply it LIVE! on Mixlr or Twitter or what ever…. and pause & discuss?… you get the idea!….. Ok, I’m Out!

The chat room/twitter feed is a bit hard to follow. I prefer the chat room because I think it’s a bit faster.

The “pop” is a bit distracting. It doesn’t really bother me, but I fear that when the show gets more popular that the popping will get more frequent.

No real complaints though. I love the live show and I love even more that we all get to interact at once. Plus, 3 podcasts a week to listen to is the real treat. Keep up the good work!

I like being able to listen and type into the same page. Mixlr works fine for me and the pop noises don’t bug me. It actually helps me a bit to realize the delay between us sending the responses and you getting them so I know whether or not it’s a comment you’re not responding to or just haven’t seen yet. Though I do wish there was a way for Colleen to see/respond to the mixler chat. I guess if we dual posted to twitter from mxler but really I’m not too picky about it.

As long as we can hear you loud and clear (which I can), works for me.
